MSWL: My wheelhouse is contemporary YA and MG. If you have a story with Jewish characters, I'm all in! I enjoy character-driven coming-of-age tales about complex families, friendships, and/or sibling relationships. I love characters who have unique skills and hobbies, real or fantastical. I enjoy both high-concept and “quiet” stories. If there’s humor, even better! I’m always drawn to stories with environmental themes. I'm also a fan of historical fictions, fantasies, and stories with speculative elements/magical realism.

Stories featuring mental/physical abuse aren't for me. Spooky MG is always welcome, but I'm not the best mentor for YA murder mysteries or dark thrillers.

Lindsey Hewett is a voracious reader and lover of all things literary. She teaches high school English by day and writes Young Adult and Middle Grade fiction by night (and all times in between). Her books are infused with Jewish representation, comfort foods, and the beauty of the New England coastline. She was an Author Mentor Match (AMM) round six mentee and continues to work with her friends and critique partners from that program. She’s represented by Alyssa Eisner Henkin of Birch Path Literary. Her contemporary Middle Grade is currently on submission.
